Nerdrotic – Will LOTR: The Rings of Power Be A Woke DISASTER? (Updated)

Here’s a good video documenting all the red flags raised by Amazon’s ‘Ring of Power’ over the course of production and development.

In 1999, I remember hearing how The Lord of the Rings was going to be made by a slightly unknown director named Peter Jackson. I also remember feeling that was a cool thing but hoping that the group would respect the work of J.R.R Tolkien. Jackson did not disappoint with his LOTR! His and his team’s attention to the detail of the source material honored the work of J.R.R. Tolkein. Certainly, Tolkien is human like the rest of us but sometimes you are lucky enough to make some major contributions to humanity.

The point is, for whatever reason, we live in a time where those that perceive they have the “Ring of Power” think they can dictate to us mere mortals what words we can and cannot use. It’s interesting that it’s as if they have the ‘Ring of Power’ and we all know what happened to the holders of the rings. The evil rings from the start affected everyone, even humble, innocent Frodo. I suspect, and I could be wrong, but I worry that Amazon with their brass (plastic) ring is going to turn into a pun from their own story and reveal how the ‘Rings of Power’ corrupt. The good news is that Gollum in the end jumps into the fires of Mount Doom. I do pity Bezos as a Gollum-like figure in this parallel story. I’ll call it now: Bezos as the Gollum character is going to be figuratively burnt up in his own fires of Mt. Doom. I could be wrong, but time will tell.
